Martin Goddard

Martin has over 35 years’ experience as a claims manager, loss adjuster / surveyor, insurance broker and risk manager. As a claims manager, he headed up the property and casualty claims department of Barbados Fire & Commercial Insurance Company Ltd (now Sagicor General); as a loss adjuster and surveyor he has worked on numerous property and casualty losses (and surveys) throughout the region; as a broker, Martin was General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing of CGM Gallagher Insurance Brokers Ltd (Barbados & Eastern Caribbean), one of the largest insurance intermediaries in the Caribbean; and as a risk manager he was General Manager of Caribbean Risk Managers Ltd, a specialist risk management company and the Facility Supervisors for the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF).

Martin was also founder and director/ adjuster at MRG INC, with extensive catastrophe handling experience – including Category 5 Hurricanes Maria, Irma and Dorian to name a few.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics) from Bishop’s University in Canada and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute/ Chartered Insurance Practitioner (UK) as well as an Associate in Risk Management with the Insurance Institute of America.
